Prague Castle is the most important Czech monument and a symbol of Czech statehood. It was founded around 880 and became the seat of Czech princes and kings. Since 1918 it has been the seat of the President. It is the largest castle complex in the world. It includes the Cathedral of St. Vitus, which is also the final resting place of the rulers and also the place where the Czech crown jewels are stored.

The Powder Tower is a High Gothic building founded in 1475 directly by King Vladislav Jagiellon. It used to be part of the city's fortifications and a gunpowder depot. Hence its name.

The Municipal House is a very famous Art Nouveau building. It is intended for representative purposes. It is on the site of the former King's Court.

The most important Czech painters and sculptors of the 20th century, Mikoláš Aleš, Josef Václav Myslbek, Alfons Mucha and others, participated in its decoration.

The Tyn church from 1135 was originally Romanesque and belonged to the merchants' hospital, in a place called Ungelt. Later it was rebuilt into a Gothic temple. It is the final resting place throughout Europe of the famous astronomer Tycho Brahe.

The National Museum is the largest museum in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1818 from the private collections of the then counts as the Museum of the Kingdom of Bohemia. Founders: Kašpar Josef Štenberk, František Josef Klebelberg. Since 1891 it has been located in a Neo-Renaissance building on Wenceslas Square.
